Welcome to girl in Manolo’s. I’m girl rachell noir, and I’ll be your tour guide into the erotic and exotic world of lifestyle art and literature. Two of my favorite kinks.
The goal of this blog is to share the best of the BDSM bookish and artsy internet/world for you. It’s a place to get your sapiosexual kink on, per se.
If you haven’t guessed by the blog’s title, I am a fashion slut. Fashion week are my weeks. Paris, New York, Milan… I live for them. girls panties are wet the entire time.
Like my Manolo wearing friend, Carrie Bradshaw, Vogue is my bible. There’s a huge ritual when the new issue comes out. Trust me, full ritual. Protocols. Don’t bother girl. It’s an orgasmic experience.
Today, I decided to cruise through back issues of the holy fashion book. Carrie Bradshaw would be proud. Color me pink when I came across an article about a ballet on bondage being held at the Guggenheim!
The exhibit: The Master and Form by Brendon Fernandes (note: article from 2019. The performance has been suspended. View a snippet here:
Master and the Form
Fernandes, the choreographer, likened the piece and the art form of ballet to S&M culture, noting, “an emphasis on trust and confidence within a space where roles of mastery and submission are in play.”
Anyone who has ever studied ballet knows the environment relies on a strict dynamic of absolute authority and unquestioning obedience. Discipline is required, never negotiated. Dancers show up, silently obey, often dancing through injuries.
In comparing ballet to S&M one could argue a submissive/slave asks to be dominated; a ballet dancer is never afforded that opportunity. Do as told or you’re out of the company.
In doing further research on the piece, girls feels Fernandes missed an important opportunity to discuss the ethical components of S&M; consent and negotiation, thus further feeding into a stereotype that s-types, like ballerinas, have no say.
Either way, finding such a well received piece based on S&M, presented at the Guggenheim, advertised in Vogue, tells girl we are open to having discussions on the lifestyle in ways not thought of before.
girls sought sapiosexual happiness, found, to say the least.
